LSD stands for lysergic acid diethylamide-25, better known by its street name acid. In its pure form it is a colorless, odorless powder with a slightly bitter taste, however it is very unlikely that one will ever come across enough pure LSD that it will not need to be viewed under a microscope. LSD is the most powerful drug known to man, with threshhold effects at 20ug (20 millionths of a gram), however, most users take over 100ug. When distributed on the street, it comes in multiple forms. What you saw was blooter paper, which is paper dipped in LSD solution and then hung up to dry, thus transferring some of the LSD from the solution to the paper. It can also be found in liquid solution, small pills called "microdots", and gelatin squares called "windowpanes", however blotter is the most common form it is distributed in. Blotter paper on the streets today contain doses ranging from 20ug to about 80 or 90ug. Prices vary depending on location, sometimes LSD can be found in urban ares for as cheap as $100 a sheet (100 hits, or $1 a hit), and can sell in rural areas for as much as $35 a hit. The effects of LSD last around 12 hours, with a 3 to 6 hour peak, and a 3 to 5 hour comedown phase, in addition to after-effects (feeling high) for several hours later. The duration of the effects depends on the dosage. The physical effects include elevated heart-rate, sweating, elevated body temperature, increased mucous production, and dilated pupils. The physical effects are minimal in comparison to the psychological effects of the drug. Psychological effects can include but are not limited to hallucinations of all five senses, mostly visual and auditory, increased awareness of music, brighter free-flowing colors (where tie-dye came from), tracers/trailer, colorful patterns, brighter lights, magnified emotions, synthesesia (hearing colors, seeing sounds), anxiety, and paranoia. LSD is a relatively safe drug, with the LD50 (lethal dose) being over 1000 times the amount required for a recreational experience. LSD also expands your mind, allowing you to think of things in ways that you never thought of them before.
