What this test means in English?

Things like the continuance of British rule in India Russian purges and deportations, the dropping of atomic bombs on Japan, can indeed be defended, but only by arguments which are too brutal for most people face, and which are not consistent with the professed aims of political parties. Thus political language has to consist largely of euphemism, the issue of begging and sheer cloudy vagueness.
You can argue for the horrible things that happened in the world (British rule in India, Russian purges, etc. Read a history book if you do not know what these are), but the only way to argue for them, that is to say that nobody wants to hear. This is why politics and politicians spoke in vague terms which mean nothing. To summarize in one sentence: Tell people what they want hear, not what they should hear.
