what do you think of the California video game law that's being heard in the Supreme Court?
What do you think of the law, does the it violate the first amendment and do you think the Supreme Court will rule in its favor?
Games rated Mature (M) can only be purchased by people 17 and older, and most specific examples of terrible or horrific violence in video games are taken from these rated M games. Rated T games on the other hand usually have violence equal to or less than PG 13 movies, at least the way I see it.
Re: the age restrictions on the purchase of "mature" games, I imagine that the Court won't differentiate between video game ratings and movie ratings or censorship of TV. On the other hand, the government forcing video game companies to remove offensive material might be a constitutional violation.
P.S. I don't agree with these kinds of bans, just trying to analyze the issue.
